Unity for Flash Developes – Tutorial 3 (Prefabs)
Just like to thank everyone so far for the positive responses and feedback on the new Unity video tutorials. I’ve never done these before, so I’ve been learning quite a bit over the past 3 weeks!
This episode covers the basics of what Prefabs are, how to make them, and how you can instantiate and destroy them manually and with code. I am going to start attaching my tutorial notes to the lessons in addition to code examples that you can download and try out.
I hope you enjoy this weeks lesson and I look forward to your feedback.
Go play and have fun!

Unity for Flash Developers – Tutorial 1
The first tutorial for “Unity for Flash Developers” is done.
Since this is my first video podcast ever, I think it turned out pretty decent. This tutorial covers some of the similarities and differences between Unity3d and Flash and designed to give Flash developers a heads up on getting started with Unity3d.
Note: If the video does not play in IE you can try playing it right from Vimeo here.
Here are the links from the Unity site about learning how to move around and the Unity IDE.

In the next tutorial we will have a look at how to start adding some code to our game objects to get things moving.
Have fun and stay tuned for more.

Unity for Flash Developers
Just a quick note to announce that I will be starting to post a series of beginner video tutorials on Unity3D for Flash developers. As a seasoned Flash developer with over over 10 years of development experience, I found that the process of getting going with Unity3D was a lot easier because of my previous experience with Flash. In the first few tutorials I plan on demonstrating on how many of the key concepts you may already know and use in your Flash games can be easy translated into Unity. I think Unity is a fantastic tool to complement your Flash skills and I look forward to offering some insight on getting started.
